The last ten nights of Ramadan are the most blessed nights of the year. This is because one of the nights during these ten could be Laylatul Qadr, also known as the night of decree, whereby Allah decides what’s going to happen this year and with your prayers could change the trajectory of your year. To highlight how powerful this night is, Allah SWT mentions in the Qur’an:
The night of decree is better than a thousand months.
لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌۭ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍۢ
If you feel like this Ramadan could’ve gone better, don’t lose hope because these last ten nights could change everything by the will of Allah. The exact date of this night is unknown and this is why it is so important to treat all ten nights as important as each other so that you maximise your rewards. To help make sure you feel as prepared as possible here are some tips to improve your Ramadan.
Get Rid of Distractions
Now is not the time to waste your night by doomscrolling or other activities that aren’t productive in terms of worshipping Allah SWT. While there are some beneficial videos on social media, it can quickly become distracting and short form content can have you realise that you’ve spent several hours online and didn’t retain any information because so much was thrown at you. To make the most out of these ten nights, switch off your socials and get rid of any other distractions for the time being. You can also avoid unnecessary socialisation to avoid arguments or gossip. Your hobbies can wait, but these ten nights cannot.

Giving Abundantly in Charity
If you haven’t given any charity this month, start now. You never know, the night you give charity could be on Laylatul Qadr and you could get your rewards multiplied. Another thing to note is that charity doesn’t always have to be monetary. If you genuinely don’t have any money, give charity by helping those in need. This can look like cooking a meal for someone who needs it or if you have multiple jackets taking up space in your closet, give them away! Get creative in your charity and ensure your intentions are pure to become charitable during these last ten nights.
Praying in Congregation
If you can, try and pray in congregation as much as possible. The rewards are far greater.
The Prophet (PBUH) said:
“Whoever attends Isha prayer in congregation, then he has the reward as if he had stood half of the night. And whoever prays Isha and Fajr in congregation, then he has the reward as if he had spent the entire night standing in prayer.”
(Jami’ Tirmidhi, 221)
If you can do this, the next step would be to do voluntary prayers but make sure your compulsory prayers are done well. The prophet (PBUH) said:
The Prophet (PBUH) said:
“Whoever stands in prayer during Laylatul-Qadr with faith and hope in the reward of Allah, all of his previous sins will be forgiven.”
(Sahih Bukhari, 1901)
Making Dua on Laylatul Qadr
Make as much dua during these nights as you can. Remember Allah SWT, praise Him and pray with sincerity and certainty that He will respond. As mentioned before, this night has the potential to transform how your year will go and it is vital that you put in the effort and ask for forgiveness and ask for ease in this life and the next. Take this time to forgive those around you because how do you expect Allah to forgive you if you cannot forgive others.

We hope these tips help you make the most out of these last ten nights. Remember to not get too caught up in what to do to the point where you don’t end up doing anything. Start simple and talk to your creator, pray, ask for forgiveness and do good. Allah knows when intentions are pure and if you’re trying your best.
